The “Ziti Lunghi”, or “Candles”, is a type of pasta of elongated, tubular and hollow shape like bucatini but of greater diameter. Even if packaged as long pasta, the culinary tradition of Southern Italy wants that before cooking them are broken manually in the dish. The name comes from the expression “Maccheroni della Zita”, a baked dish traditionally prepared by the bride for the wedding lunch.
